On August 13 (Tuesday), the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) announced revisions in their home season calendar for 2024-25.
The first T20I against Bangladesh, which was set to be held in Dharamshala on October 6, 2024, will not happen in the Himalayan city anymore. It has now been shifted to Gwalior, which last hosted an international game back in 2010 when Sachin Tendulkar became the first man on the planet to score a double century in ODIs against South Africa.
Bangladesh's tour of India begins on September 19 in Chennai, where the visitors will play the first Test of a two-test series. The other Test will start in Kanpur.
Further, the BCCI has also announced a swap in the venues of the first and second T20I of the England tour of India, which consists of five T20Is and three ODIs. Earlier, the first T20I was supposed to be held in Chennai on January 22, 2025, and the second in Kolkata on January 25.
However, the Kolkata police requested the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) for a venue change due to their Republic Day obligations, and the BCCI agreed to their request.
India are scheduled to host New Zealand too apart from Bangladesh and England in the home season. The Kiwis will play a three-Test series starting three days after the end of the Bangladesh tour on October 16. The three Tests will be played in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai.
Here are the detailed schedules for both the Bangladesh and England tour of India.
