Follow UsJoburg Super Kings have signed England’s wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow for the SA20 2025. This will be his first appearance in South Africa’s franchise-based league.
Faf du Plessis, Gerald Coetzee, Donovan Ferreira, Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theekshana and David Wiese. Nandre Burger, Lizaad Williams and Imran Tahir have all been retained. Tabraiz Shamsi has been traded in from Paarl Royals, with Dayyaan Galiem shifting to the other side.
Du Plessis will continue to lead the side. Reeza Hendricks and Sam Cook are missing from the squad that played last season, where the Super Kings lost to Durban Super Giants in the Qualifier 2. They will add more players to the 13-man squad.
Bairstow hasn’t been in great form in the 20-over format. He averaged 29.8 in the Indian Premier League and 27.5 in the T20 World Cup. In the ongoing Hundred, Bairstow has scored just 35 runs in three innings.
