India skipper Jasprit Bumrah struck early on day two of the fifth Test in Sydney to become the most successful Indian bowler on an Australian tour. He now has 32 wickets in the series, beating Bishan Singh Bedi's record of 31, which he set on the 1977-78 tour. On the same tour 46 years ago, BS Chandrashekar had picked up 28 wickets as well. It was a series India lost 2-3, after being 0-2 down after the first two matches.

In the ongoing series, Bumrah has been head and shoulders above any of the other bowlers. In fact, the next best India bowler in the series is Mohammed Siraj, with 16 wickets, which further shows how vital Bumrah has been in the series.
The fast bowler also picked up the wicket of Usman Khawaja off the final ball of day one and has started off day two with the crucial wicket of Marnus Labuschagne, who scored twin fifties in Melbourne.
Bumrah, who led India to a victory in the first Test in Perth, takes charge of the side in this game as well as Rohit Sharma opted out owing to poor form. Australia lead the Border-Gavastkar Test series 2-1. India need to win the Sydney Test to hang on to the trophy, which they last lost in 2014-15.
