Anshul Kamboj picks all 10 wickets in an innings; scripts Ranji Trophy history

The former Mumbai Indians all-rounder became the first bowler since Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sunderam in 1985

In what was a historic moment, Haryana’s gun all-rounder Anshul Kamboj became the first bowler in 39 years to pick up all 10 wickets in an innings of a Ranji Trophy encounter. Kamboj achieved that rare feat in the clash against Kerala on a green top at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Lahli on November 15 (Friday).

The all-rounder finished with figures of 10/49, which is also the second-best figure in the tournament's history, only behind Premangsu Chatterjee’s 10/20 against Assam in 1957 in Jorhat. This feat last occurred in 1985 when Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sunderam picked up all 10 wickets in an inning against Vidarbha in Jodhpur. It is the seventh occasion of a 10-wicket haul in an innings in India and the second in the month of November in the Ranji Trophy.

Astonishingly, two out of the three 10-wicket hauls in innings at the international level, too, have been in India. The 23-year-old continued the stellar start to his domestic career, with 47 wickets before the clash against Kerala, averaging 28.23.

But he took it to another level by scalping all the 10 wickets against Kerala, with Shoun Roger being his last victim. Given that the IPL 2025 mega auction is around the corner, and Kamboj has already shown his level at the IPL level, there’s a strong chance that he could force the franchises to break the bank.
