CSK vs RCB: Another Game, Another MS Dhoni Lightning-Fast Stumping
Suryakumar Yadav in the first game, and now Phil Salt in the second match felt the wrath of MSD's quick hands
MS Dhoni has done it again!
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicketkeeper has pulled off yet “another lightning-fast stumping”, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) opener Phil Salt being the victim in Match 8 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on March 28 (Friday).
In CSK’s first game of the IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians (MI), Dhoni pulled off a 0.12-second stumping off Noor Ahmad to get rid of stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
Against RCB, it was England’s Salt who felt the wrath of Dhoni’s quick hands at Chepauk, with Noor once again being the bowler.
RCB got off to a superb start after being asked to bat first, with Salt being the aggressor in the opening partnership alongside Virat Kohli. The right-hander raced to 31 off 14 deliveries before Ruturaj Gaikwad introduced the left-arm wristspinner into the attack in the fifth over.
On the final delivery of the over, Noor brought out his trademark googly and Salt went for a big heave but failed to make any connection. Dhoni removed the bails in no time but wasn’t too confident about the stumping.
It was still sent upstairs and the replays showed Salt had lifted his back foot for a millisecond, but it was enough for MSD to light up the bails. Salt got out for 32 off 16, and the 45-run stand was broken, thanks to the brilliance of MSD and Noor.
