Afghanistan call-up Sediqullah Atal, Noor Ahmad for Bangladesh ODIs

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Zadran (ankle) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (right phalanx hand sprain) are still recovering from their respective injuries

Afghanistan have called-up Sediqullah Atal and Noor Ahmad for the three-match One-Day International series against Bangladesh in Sharjah, starting on November 6. These two are the only additions to squad that defeated South Africa 2-1 last month.

Ibrahim Zadran (ankle) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (right phalanx hand sprain) are still recovering from their respective injuries and are not part of the 19-man squad.

Atal, the left-handed opening batter, has played six T20Is for Afghanistan and has been in impressive form in the ongoing Emerging Teams Asia Cup. In three innings so far, the 23-year-old has registered scores of 83, 95* and 52.

Meanwhile, left-arm wristspinner Noor played the last of his 10 ODIs in March. The 19-year-old has nine wickets at an average of 57.22 in the 50-over format. Noor, however, had a good CPL 2024 where he picked up 22 wickets in 12 games at an average of 13.22.

Afghanistan Cricket Board chief selector Ahmad Shah Sulimankhil said: "Ibrahim Zadran is currently undergoing rehabilitation and continues to recover from the surgery he recently had. Mujeeb Ur Rahman also remains unavailable due to ongoing treatment.

"However, Noor Ahmad is back in the squad, and we have included a promising top-order batter in Sediqullah Atal, who has impressed everyone with his consistent top performances."
