Afghanistan All-round Star Dethrones Compatriot Nabi To Become No.1 ODI Allrounder

Axar Patel gained 17 spots and rose to the 13th spot with highest career ratings

Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai has continued his stellar rise in international cricket and has now reached the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI allrounders ranking, dethroning his Afghan compatriot Mohammad Nabi from the top spot.

Omarzai picked up seven wickets in three games, including a 5/58 against England. Meanwhile, he also scored 126 runs at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 104.1. Despite Afghanistan getting ousted from the tournament, he was their brightest star and has been duly rewarded in the ICC rankings.

India’s Axar Patel also reached his career-high rating point in the ODI allrounders ranking and is now 13th, rising 17 spots.

Shubman Gill has maintained his reign at the top of the table in the ODI batter rankings. Virat Kohli has moved one spot to the fourth position after a century against Pakistan and a 84 against Australia. Babar Azam is at the second spot, and Heinrich Klaasen is third.

Matt Henry has reached the third spot in the ODI bowler rankings, with Mahesh Theekshana and Keshav Maharaj at the first and second spots. Mohammad Shami has also reached the 11th spot after some really good spells in the Champions Trophy.
