Pakistan's top-order fails to deliver again
With two wickets already down, it was up to the current skipper Shan Masood and former captain Babar Azam to try and build a solid partnership alongside Saim Ayub However, all three failed to make any useful contribution, with Babar getting out for just 11. The former skipper has now gone 16 innings without a Test fifty.
Nasty Nahid on the move
Nahid Rana was the pick of the bowlers in the first session of play. The tall pacer got the wickets of Masood, Babar and Saud Shakeel to push Pakistan on the back foot. All of his wickets came from short of good length deliveries which were bowled at over 140 kmph, giving the batter no opportunity to react or adjust.
Rizwan-Salman try salvage act
After Pakistan were six down for six down for 81, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha tried to salvage the situation with a 55-run stand for the seventh wicket.
Hasan Mahmud with a five-for
However, Bangladesh skipper Shanto brought Hasan Mahmud back into the attack. He removed Rizwan and Mohammad Ali in back-to-back deliveries to get Bangladesh within touching distance of bowling Pakistan out.
It eventually happened as Hasan picked a five-for and Nahid had four wickets to his name. With Taskin getting the wicket of Ayub, Bangladesh pacers took al 10 wickets in an innings for the first time in history.
Rain saves Pakistan
Chasing 165 to win, Bangladesh were cruising towards the target at 42/0 before rain showers stopped the game and saved Pakistan from defeat on the fourth day itself.
