3 players who can hit the longest six in IPL 2025
Here are three players who could hit the longest six in the upcoming season of IPL
One of the key reasons why the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the best T20 tournament in the world is because of the number of power hitters we get to witness in the competition. With power hitters come big and long sixes, and who doesn’t like that?
We have seen the likes of Albie Morkel, Chris Gayle, Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni hit some of the biggest sixes in the tournament's history, and the IPL 2025 is going to be no different.
Here are three players who could hit the longest six in the upcoming season of IPL.
ANDRE RUSSELL
You can’t talk about big sixes and not mention Andre Russell’s name. The big man from the West Indies is now 36, but the power in those arms is very much intact. There are 37 batters with at least 100 sixes in the IPL and nobody has a better balls/six ratio than Russell (6.8).
One mistake, one delivery in his arc, and Russell could send it out of the park.
HEINRICH KLAASEN
Another batter who can terrorise bowlers with his six-hitting ability. South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen is as dangerous as they come and is one of the best in the business when it comes to hitting sixes. No matter what the line, what the length or who the bowler is, the ball disappears out of sight if Klaasen gets it right.
Only one batter has hit more sixes than Klaasen (168) in T20s since 2023. The middle-order batter, who will be part of the dangerous Sunrisers Hyderabad batting unit, will be given the license to go crazy from the word go. So, don’t be surprised if he ends up smashing the longest six in the IPL 2025.
BEVON JACOBS
Nicholas Pooran would have been a safer bet but it was tough for us to ignore what Mumbai Indians’ latest recruitment Bevon Jacobs has been doing in the last one year or so. The 22-year-old batter from New Zealand, who is built like a tank, only has nine T20 innings to his name but has already made quite a name for himself with his powerful striking.
The right-hander has 281 runs @ 46.83 and a strike rate of 171.34, including 18 maximums. His long reach and powerful arms allow him to hit those massive sixes and we could witness some of those in IPL 2025.
