That ends a sort-of one-way contest at the Bellerive Oval. The game began with the Strikers being all over the Sixers but then, Daniel Christian seized the momentum and swung it towards the Sixers. The Team in Magenta stay in third, with 8 points, while the Strikers are on 4th, taking a solitary point from this match. The next game will be played on Tuesday, 22nd December, 2020 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, where the Sydney Thunder meet the Perth Scorchers. DANIEL CHRISTIAN HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. Christian says that Daniel Worrall bowled beautiully and the Strikers had got off to a flier, hence, he tried to do something different and it came off. Feels proud of the way his team bowled and says that everyone was fantastic. Says that being in the hub has been enjoyable as everyday you get to be with the players, rather than breaking away and going to meet your family in between. Cannot await to go to Queensland in warmer conditions, given the freezing ones here.
Good all-round show from the Sixers post the 10th over of the first innings. They were sluggish with the bat early on but Christian gave them some much-needed boost. And then with that momentum, even though they did not do too well in the Powerplay with the ball, they knew that it ws just a matter of one wicket and indeed it was. The opening bowlers suffered but it was Benjamin Manenti who changed the course. After going for 13 in his opening over, he came back phenomenally well and choked the Strikers in the middle. After that, the Sixers regrouped really well with everyone doing well.
Comprehensive win for the Sixers. They do not get all 4 points, simply because of the poor start they got, but they will take the 3 points. 178 was always going to be a tall chase but a 52-run opening stand between Salt and Weatherald did give the Strikers a good chance. However, once Salt fell, the team derailed. The batsmen found no momentum going while Jonathan Wells simply could not get a partnership brewing.

Carlos Brathwaite to Jonathan Wells ,Full and down the leg side, Wells gets across to lap but misses. No wide signalled. Rightly so, since the batsman moved across.

Carlos Brathwaite to Rashid Khan ,OUT! CAUGHT. Taken in the deep. Full and around off, Rashid brings out the helicopter shot, aiming mid-wicket. Connects well too. But unfortunately for him, he picks out the tallest man on the field - Jason Holder. Holder waits patiently for the ball to come to him, leaps at the opportune moment and grabs the catch.

Daniel Christian to Rashid Khan ,DROPPED! This has not been Jordan Silk's night at all. Another catch put down. A length ball, outside off, Khan looks to swing hard but gets a top edge. It is a steepler, but still, a simple catch for Silk at deep mid-wicket. He settles himself under the catch, gets down on a knee, goes with palms facing skywards, but plonks it. A single taken.
