The third edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is shaping up to be the closest edition yet, with each of the five teams still in contention for the playoffs.
Two more home games remain for the second-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the first of those games will be against struggling Gujarat Giants tomorrow (February 27) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB will unquestionably enter the contest as heavy favourites, but, interestingly, both RCB and GG are on a two-match losing streak, with RCB losing their previous clash against UP Warriorz in heart-wrenching super over.
It’s a huge clash for both teams, as while GG *need* to win in order to stay in contention for the playoffs, RCB would want to arrest the mini-slump and get back to the top of the table.

Matches 5 | RCB 3 | GG 2
Both losses for RCB were close ones, and they have still been one of the best sides in WPL 2025 despite the recent losses. So RCB, despite the recent hiccups, should still comfortably beat the Giants.
Ellyse Perry has been in ludicrous form in WPL 2025. She has 3 fifties in her last 4 innings and her two scores at the Chinnaswamy so far read 81 and 90*. It’s a no-brainer to back the Aussie legend to once again light up the Chinnaswamy.
RCB’s new-ball bowler Renuka Singh has taken seven wickets across her last four games in WPL 2025. There’s a good chance she might fire once again and run through the GG batting line-up.
The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has proven to be pretty high scoring so far, with the average first innings score at the venue reading 163.
It’s a ‘chase at all costs’ venue, with there so far being just one instance of a team batting first and successfully winning the contest.
The last time these two sides met against each other, 201 played 202. So expect another run-fest.
There is no rain threat in Bengaluru for February 27 (Thursday). The temperature is expected to be pleasant, with it hovering around the early to mid 20s.
