The weekend matches in Women's Big Bash League (WBBL 2021) are most likely to be held behind closed doors after the state of Tasmainia went into a three-day lockdown after a covid-positive man escaped hotel quarantine.
Currently, Hobart is set to host the first nine matches of the WBBL 2021 owing to the covid-19 travel restrictions across different states. India's teenage keeper-batter Richa Ghosh is part of Hobart Hurricanes who are set to play Melbourne Renegades on Saturday. Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers is the second match, while Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers are the double headers for this Sunday (October 17).
"The Weber WBBL acknowledges the decision of the Tasmania government to call three-day lockdown interest of public health," the tournament's official handle Tweeted.
"The health and safety of our players, staff, match officials and partners along with that of wider community remains our top priority. We are currently working with Tasmanian government on options of upcoming matches at Blundstone Arena, this weekend," it further stated.

Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein has announced that the lockdown would start on Friday 6 pm till Monday 6 pm. The lockdown will be lifted only subject to health advice.
"Bearing in mind there are national and international matters to consider here in terms of the broadcast, if they do go ahead they would go ahead with no crowd and with the players remaining in a bubble," Gutwein has been quoted as saying by the website.
