Priyansh Arya has a couple of centuries and has also hit six sixes in an over in the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024. He is already a hit commodity in the domestic arena, and with the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction not too far away, the Delhi lad will certainly be given a look. He had previously said that he is focused on doing well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
However, if he had to pick an IPL franchise to play for, he said he would choose Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as he considers Virat Kohli his idol.
“Virat Kohli is my favourite, want to play for RCB. My favourite team is RCB, admire Virat Kohli a lot, I like his aggression. I also like to play aggressive cricket. He is my idol,” Arya told PTI.
Arya is the leading run-getter in the ongoing DPL season, with 602 runs at 75.25 and a strike rate of 198.02 for South Delhi Superstarz. His side is second in the table with six wins in nine matches and is well on course to make it to the semi-final.
Arya was Delhi's leading run-getter in SMAT 2023 with 222 runs at a strike rate of 166.91, including two fifties.
