Titas Sadhu makes her ODI debut as India bat first in Brisbane

Georgia Voll also made her debut for Australia and will replace injured Alyssa Healy at the top

The Indian women have won the toss and decided to bat first at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane in the first ODI of the three-match ODI series

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur made her intentions clear in the pre-match press conference - the team will look to try and test players in various conditions as they build towards the ODI World Cup in India in 2025. The eleven taking the field for India in the first game reflects that intent, as Titas Sadhu (who was out injured for a long time) and leg spinner Priya Mishra have been selected ahead of Arundhati Reddy and Radha Yadav.

The 20-year-old Titas from Bengal have already played nine T20Is and picked as many wickets for India. Meanwhile, leggie Priya featured in two games during the last ODI series against New Zealand at home and bowled decently.

Meanwhile, Harmanpreet had earlier confirmed the fitness of Jemimah Rodrigues, who suffered a wrist injury scare during the knockouts of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). However, Rodrigues played in the final of the tournament and is now fit to feature in India’s first essay during this three-match ODI series.

Australia have a new-looking opening pair as the 21-year-old Georgia Voll makes her debut after a splendid season at the(WBBL) where she finished as the fifth-highest run-getter in the tournament. Apart from that there are no other surprises, as Beth Mooney is also ready to take up the keeping duties in Healy’s absence.
