Two-time T20 World champion Marlon Samuels has been found guilty of four offences under the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB)’s Anti-Corruption Code. On behalf of the ECB, the International Cricket Council (ICC) charged the all-rounder back in 2021. The all-rounder was found guilty after he had exercised his right to a hearing before an independent committee.
The now 42-year-old has been found guilty of failing to disclose to the anti-corruption official about a gift/payment that could bring him or the sport into disrepute. Samuels concealed all relevant information regarding the receipt of the hospitality valued at USD 750 or more, which led to difficulties in the investigation.
It is yet to be decided what sanctions that the Tribunal will impose on the all-rounder.
