India have announced their squad for the Hong Kong Sixes tournament, which will be played in Hong Kong between November 1 and 3. Robin Uthappa will lead the side, which will also feature Manoj Tiwary, Shabaz Nadeem, Shreevats Goswami, Stuart Binny, Kedar Jadhav, and Bharat Chipli.
The tournament will have as many as 12 teams including arch-rivals Pakistan. India, Pakistan, and the UAE have been put in one group. Only six players will be allowed to take field, and it will be a five-over contest.
India have been grouped in Pool C. They will begin their campaign against Pakistan on November 1. All matches will be played at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground. As many as 29 matches will be played in the three-day tournament. The 12 participating teams have been divided into four groups with top two teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-final.
The winners of the quarter-final will progress to the semi-final, and the losers of the round will play Plate semi-finals.
A women's exhibition will be played on the final day of the competition to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
