Rinku in India B squad, Sarfaraz Khan likely to continue in Duleep Trophy: Reports

Rinku, who is currently playing in the UP T20, will be one of the many changes that will be made to the Duleep Trophy squads for the second round

Sarfaraz Khan, selected for the senior Indian men’s team for the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, will most likely remain with his Duleep Trophy 2024 side India B instead of joining the national side. Along with this development, Rinku Singh, who was not selected in any of the squads for the Duleep Trophy, would also most likely team with Sarfaraz at India B if reports on ESPNcricinfo are to be believed.

Rinku, who is currently playing in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League (UP T20), will be one of the many changes to the Duleep Trophy squads for the second round, which will start September 12 at two different grounds in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

Pratham Singh and Pulkit Narang of Services, Akshay Wadkar of Vidarbha, Shaik Rasheed of Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai’s Shams Mulani, Goa’s Suyash Prabhudesai, Madhya Pradesh’s Himanshu Mantri and Haryan’s Nishant Sindhu are most likely to replace players selected for the Indian team in various Duleep Trophy squads.

Karnataka’s Vidwath Kaverappa, who was part of the India A squad for the first round, might be sent to India D to replace Mumbai’s Tushar Deshpande, who got injured. Karnataka’s Mayank Agarwal is most likely to lead India A's side as Shubman Gill has been selected for national duties.

The Indian team’s camp for the Chennai Test will get underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk from September 12, the same day the Duleep Trophy second round begins.
