Cricket.com.au has posted on the microblogging site X that the Australian all-rounder Mitch Marsh will be joining the World Cup contingent in Mumbai on November 5 (Sunday). Marsh had returned back home to Perth after the game against New Zealand in Dharamsala due to 'personal reasons'.
Cricket Australia released a statement then, announcing, "Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned home from the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 late last night for personal reasons. A timeline on his return to the squad is to be confirmed. No further detail will be offered at this time."
Marsh had to return home due to the death of his grandfather, Ross Marsh, who passed away on Friday (October 27). The Australian team was seen wearing black armbands in their clash against England to express their condolences.
