Lucky to have played professional cricket for such a long time: Ian Bell

The former England batter has slammed over 13,000 runs for England in his 11-year international career

Ian Bell was one of England's stalwarts between 2004 and 2015 when he played 118 Tests and 161 One-Day Internationals (ODI) for England. He played a part in his side's successful era, during which they won five Ashes series. He scored over 13,000 international runs and is considered to be one of England's finest batters.

Bell, who is currently playing in the Legends League Cricket (LLC), considers himself lucky to have played professional cricket for such a long time.

"To come back and play some more cricket, even though I suppose the playing days are finished, and coaching is what I do now, it's been brilliant," Bell told PTI.

"When you retire from playing, you don't get these opportunities to come out in front of good crowds and have that chance. It does remind you of how lucky you were to be a professional cricketer for such a long period of time."

Bell has played three matches in the LLC so far for India Capitals, having scored 7 and 10 in the two innings in Jammu.
