Jaiswal climbs four spots to become sixth ranked T20I batter in the world

As far as Test cricket is concerned, England’s Harry Brook has moved three spots to overtake both Virat Kohli and Jaiswal

On the back of his 141-run series against Zimbabwe last week, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed four spots to become the sixth ranked T20I batter in the world. Jaiswal is now the second-ranked Indian T20I batter, with Suryakumar Yadav (#2 in the world) the only other Indian ahead of him.

Jaiswal, who was part of the India’s T20 World Cup triumph but did not play a game, featured in the last three games against Zimbabwe and registered scores of 36, 93* & 12. In the final T20I in Harare, he created a world record, scoring 13 runs off the very first delivery of the contest.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal’s opening partner Shubman Gill, who was the highest run-getter in the series with 170 runs, has moved 36 places to 37th.

Ruturaj Gaikwad had a productive series, but the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper still sees himself slip to eighth spot.

Travis Head (844 points) has a healthy lead over second-placed Suryakumar (797). In fact, Phil Salt is breathing right down the neck of the Indian batter. The England opener is joint-second with 797 points to his name.

The top eight of the bowlers’ rankings remains unchanged. Axar Patel at 13th spot is currently the highest ranked Indian on the bowlers’ front.

In terms of T20I all-rounders, Wanindu Hasaranga remains top, having a 11-point lead over second placed Marcus Stoinis. Hardik Pandya, who did not play the Zimbabwe T20Is, has dropped four spots and is now sixth in the all-rounder’s rankings.

Harry Brook overtakes Kohli & Jaiswal

As far as Test cricket is concerned, England’s Harry Brook has moved three spots to overtake both Virat Kohli and Jaiswal to become the seventh ranked batter in the world. Zak Crawley has also entered the Top 15; he is now the 13th ranked batter in the world, with him ahead of the likes of Travis Head, Saud Shakeel and Dhananjaya de Silva.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have retained their top spots in the all-rounder’s and bowler’s rankings in Tests, respectively.
