India will begin their defence of the Asia Cup with the clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium. The Asia Cup 2022 T20 tournament will begin with the Group B clash between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on August 27 at Dubai, which will also host the final on September 11.
The tournament, which was originally scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka, has moved to the UAE due to the political turmoil in the Island nation.
"The 15th edition of the Asia Cup will serve as ideal preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup," Asian Cricket Council president Jay Shah tweeted on Tuesday.
The wait is finally over as the battle for Asian supremacy commences on 27th August with the all-important final on 11th September.

Sri Lanka are in Group B alongside Afghanistan and Bangladesh while India and Pakistan will face the winner of the team Qualifying tournament involving four teams - UAE, Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuwait.
The top two teams from each group will move to the Super 4 stage and will face the remaining three team from September 4-9. The top two teams from Super 4 stage will qualify for the summit clash.
