Weather conditions

Severe rain hit Grand Prairie Stadium ahead of the T20 World Cup opener, and the warm-up clash between the USA and Bangladesh was called off. But rest assured, the weather is expected to be clear by the start of the WC opener on June 1 (Saturday).

Players to watch out for

Steven Taylor - One of the USA’s most influential players, Steven Taylor’s form with the bat might be crucial against Canada, given he’s the leading run-scorer this year with 174 runs. He has scored 115 of these 174 runs against Canada alone. His scores in the last five games (overall) read: 31, 28, 39, 54 and 22.

Aaron Johnson - If Steven Taylor is key to USA’s chances, then Aaron Johnson is key to Canada's. In T20s this year, Johnson has scored 124 runs, striking at 144, with scores of 33, 1, 74 and 16 in his last four games.

Harmeet Singh - The all-rounder is quite the package, having taken six wickets this year at an E.R of 6.4. But that's not all as he's also scored 81 runs this year at a strike rate of 202.5. Harmeet can be a high-value player for your Fantasy side.

Key battles

There are a couple of interesting key battles that are worth keeping an eye on.

Aaron Jones vs Saad Bin Zafar

29-year-old Aaron Jones is quite an experienced campaigner, with 43 ODI caps and 26 T20I appearances to his name. He's also nearly scored 2000 runs across formats. But against Saad Bin Zafar, Canada’s skipper, his record is extremely poor.

Jones averages 4.5 against the left-arm spin of Zafar, having scored 9 runs off 13 balls, including two dismissals.

Nicholas Kirton vs Shadley van Schalkwyk

On similar veins, Nicholas Kirton is the in-form batter for Canada, having scored 52 in the warm-up clash against Nepal earlier in the week. However, against Shadley van Schalkwyk, his record is abysmal: 8 runs off 9 balls at an average of 4.00.
