Players to watch out for

Travis Head: The destructive Australian opener gave Australia a flying start against England scoring 34(18) but could not capitalize the start to a big score. He is due for a big knock and will be expected to fire against the Namibian bowlers. He has been in great T20 form since 2023 scoring at a strike rate of 166 with a balls for boundary rate of 3.4 which is the best for any T20 batter (200+ balls) since 2023.

David Warner: The Veteran Aussie opener has shown both templates of T20 batting by playing an anchor innings of 56(51) against Oman and an aggressive knock of 39(16) against England. He has scored 300 runs in just six T20Is in 2024 and has been striking well at a 157 SR.

Gerhald Erasmus: The Namibia captain has had a good run in T20WC so far. He has been economical with the ball picking up 2/20 against Oman and 2/29 against Scotland. He also scored a fifty (52 of 31) against Scotland in the previous game. He has had a good 2024 both with bat and ball as he has scored 210 runs with three fifties and picked 12 wickets in seven T20Is he has played this year.

Key battles

Australia top order vs Namibia Pacers

The Australian top order of Travis Head, David Warner, and Mitchell Marsh will have a bunch of talented Namibia fast bowlers to face in Ruben Trumpelmann, David Wise and Tangeni Lungameni. Trumpelmann, in particular, has taken five wickets in the first over in eight T20WC games and will aim to put Australia in the back foot by dismissing Travis Head and David Warner early. David Wiese, who will be sharing the new ball with Trumpelmann, will also be aiming to take the Aussie top order off early.
