Time for the Presentations...
Earlier in the game, the Bangla Tigers posted an outstanding score of 143 for 4 in their innings on the back of a very impressive knock from Jordan Cox (90* off 36) while Dasun Shanaka (25* off 11) also supported him well. The Tigers were in all sorts of trouble early on in the game after being reduced to 33 for 4 but Cox and Shanaka stitched an unbeaten 110-run stand and got their side to a brilliant total. Nuwan Thushara was decent with the ball picking 2 for 22 while Luke Wood and Andre Russell snapped a wicket each. We witnessed a high-scoring game tonight and the Bangla Tigers came out victorious.
All the Bangla Tigers bowlers did their bit and got the much-needed points for their side. Drakes, Haider Ali, and Sams were among the wickets but it was the second over of Josh Little and the spell by Carlos Brathwaite that tilted the game in favor of the Tigers. They are up and running in this competition and go home with two points tonight.
A terrific all-around effort by the Bangla Tigers sees them defeat the Deccan Gladiators by 20 runs. Chasing a huge score of 144 for the win, the Gladiators were going well at the halfway mark with Pooran and Fletcher doing the bulk of scoring. Both the batters were dismissed in quick succession and this dented the chase for the chasing side. Andre Russell had an awful day with the bat while Fabian Allen tried hard but failed to get support from the other end. The Deccan Gladiators have suffered their second defeat in a row and will want to get back into winning ways.
