Mitchell Starc to Jonny Bairstow, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Strangled down the leg side and Jonny Bairstow is out first ball! Mitchell Starc starts off with a loosener as he bowls this one fuller on the pads and the swing seems to be taking it down leg. Bairstow tries to tickle it fine but gets a very faint tickle. Josh Inglis springs to his left and takes a fine tumbling catch. Starc appeals and Bairstow starts walking back for a golden duck. Perfect start for Australia not so much for England.

Mitchell Starc to Joe Root, FOUR! All class from Joe Root! Pitched up around off at 141 clicks, looking to swing it back in. Root gets on the front foot and punches it on the up sweetly to the right of mid off and brings up the first boundary of the chase.

Josh Hazlewood to Joe Root, FOUR! Edged away! Back of a length and in the channel around off, moving a bit in the air. Joe Root looks to hop back and steer it with an open-faced bat but ends up getting an outside edge well wide of Steven Smith at second slip and this one runs away to the fence.

Mitchell Starc to Joe Root, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Lovely delivery and Marnus Labuschagne seems very, very interested in this one. Not much enthusiasm from the keeper or the slip cordon but after a chat, Pat Cummins does go up for the review for a caught-behind decision. Mitchell Starc serves it on a nagging length in the channel around off and this one goes across the right-hander. Joe Root has a feel for it but seems to be beaten past the outside edge. However, there was a noise and UltraEdge confirms that it was of the outside edge. Excellent review and Root has to walk back early too.

Mitchell Starc to Dawid Malan, FOUR! Well, just as we write that, one delivery is cracked through the off side. Slightly shorter and width on offer. Dawid Malan pounces on it and he slams it through point. This is what England needed. That will release a little bit of pressure. The swing also seems to have gone now. One assumes batting will only get easier from here.

Josh Hazlewood to Dawid Malan, SIX! Over the fence. He can't! Can't blame him here though that is an outrageous shot. Wow! Audacious from Malan. He has had enough of defending. This is yet agian a length ball. Dawid Malan plants his front foot across and then heaves it over the mid-wicket fence. Just shows how good a wicket this is. Such shots can't be played on a tough wicket.

10.5
Pat Cummins to Dawid Malan, FOUR! Streaky but will do! Short and wide, Dawid Malan hangs back and slashes at it. The ball flies off the outer half and goes away into the third man fence for a boundary.

Mitchell Starc to Ben Stokes, FOUR! That is glorious! That is a wonderful stroke! One of the best today! Fuller and on middle, Ben Stokes shows the full face of the bat and creams it down to the long on fence. That should give him a lot of confidence.

Marcus Stoinis to Dawid Malan, FOUR! Off the top edge but a boundary! Marcus Stoinis is not that quick but does get his bumper to hurry the batter. This is short and on the body. Dawid Malan looks to pull, it goes off the top edge and down to the fine leg fence. Second boundary in the over. This is just the kind of over England needed to release pressure.

Travis Head to Ben Stokes, SIX! Powered down the ground and over the fence. 100 up for England and momentum seems to be shifting. Ben Stokes steps out. He gets to the pitch of it and slams it over the long on fence for a biggie. Top shot.

Pat Cummins to Dawid Malan, OUT! TAKEN! There is the end of Malan and the stand that was going along so well, has been broken! Pat Cummins strikes. He gets himself on and bags the big wicket. We just wrote Malan needs to make it big but falls immediately after scoring his fifty. This is on a length and around middle, Dawid Malan looks to pull, this goes off the top edge towards fine leg. Travis Head takes it. A little bit of extra bounce and Malan falls. Not sure if that was needed at the moment but England were looking to up the ante. 184 more needed.

Adam Zampa to Jos Buttler, OUT! CAUGHT! Straight to the man and it's another slim outing for Jos Buttler. Adam Zampa vs Buttler, the match-up was always in favour of the leggie and he's got Buttler out for a fifth time in ODIs. This is nicely tossed up around off, Buttler skips down the track looking to thump it over long off but the bat turns in his hand and he only manages to hit it down the throat of Cameron Green inside the long off fence. Green takes a simple catch and Zampa is delighted. England lose their fourth wicket now. Also, Moeen Ali comes out to bat next.

Adam Zampa to Ben Stokes, OUT! TAKEN! Ben Stokes falls now. Adam Zampa gets the big fish. Stokes is absolutely disgusted with himself. He can't believe what he has done. That was not such a good delivery. It is down the leg side. Short. Stokes could have pulled it anywhere but does so straight to short fine leg and it is taken by Marcus Stoinis! A good knock by Stokes but has fallen at the wrong time. His side needed him to be there. Australia back on top. They have broken the stand which was worrying them. 118 needed in 87.

36.6
Pat Cummins to Liam Livingstone, OUT! TAKEN! That is a sharp catch and Liam Livingstone's struggle with the bat continues. He falls now and yet again it is Cummins who provides the important breakthrough. This is banged in short and on middle, Pat Cummins pulls it hard but straight to mid-wicket. No mistake made by the fielder. It is the substitute, Sean Abbott. He takes a sharp catch moving to his right.

Adam Zampa to Moeen Ali, OUT! CAUGHT! That could be the final nail in the English coffin! The regular leg break this, tossed up on a length around off and turning back in. Moeen Ali gets down on one knee and tries to slog-sweep it with the turn but only manages to get a lot of height on it. The ball travels toward deep mid-wicket where David Warner settles under it and sits down on his knees before taking it reverse cup. Zampa picks up his third wicket of the game and England on the verge of getting knocked out here as Ali departs after a fighting knock.

Marcus Stoinis to Chris Woakes, OUT! TAKEN! Finds the man in the deep and Marcus Stoinis has done it for his side. Not the best delivery from Stoinis, another juicy full toss on the legs, begging to be punished. Chris Woakes whips it off his pads but doesn't get it off the middle of the bat. The ball goes flatand straight down the throat of Marnus Labuschagne at deep square leg and he makes no mistake. Woakes departs after putting up a fight and Australia on the verge of victory now.

Josh Hazlewood to Adil Rashid, OUT! CAUGHT! Done and dusted! Josh Hazlewood closes out proceedings and the reigning champions are officially dumped out of the tournament. A slower ball bumper around off, Adil Rashid looks to take it on but isn't under control at all and is way too early into the shot.
