So that is it from this breathtaking game! What a thriller we had! Delhi have managed to keep their nerves and have managed to start their campaign off with a win. It was a tough loss for Punjab and their new skipper, KL Rahul. They will look to bounce back from this heartbreak sooner rather than later. Indan T20 League action continues on Monday, 21st September 2020 as Virat Kohli's Bangalore take on David Warner's Hyderabad to start their respective campaigns. That game begins at 1800 local (1400 GMT). We hope to see you for that one. Till then, goodbye and take care!
For his brilliant and game changing performance both with the bat and ball, Marcus Stoinis is named the Player of the Match. Stoinis says that getting a wicket of a full toss is funny. Adds that it is important to enjoy the good days. Mentions that the areas where he bowled it worked today. Ends by saying that Indian T20 League has come after a long time this year.
Shreyas Iyer, Delhi skipper, says that he is happy with the performance. Adds that they are used to this kind of result. Mentions that Rabada did well for us the last time also in the Super Over. Praises Stoinis for his magnificent innings. Iyer also says he and Pant did well to anchor the innings. Mentions catching has been difficult under lights but they have to make that area strong. Iyer also says that Ashwin is doing well but the physio will take the final decision regarding his injury.
The star of the Super Over, Kagiso Raba is now up for a quick chat. Rabada says that he is happy with the result. Adds that he did whatever it takes to display his best performance. Mentions that catch of Chris Jordan just stuck in his hand. Ends by saying Iyer had kept him in that exact position just before that ball.
Punjab skipper, KL Rahul, says that he is disappointed with the result. Adds that Mayank played very well and he expected this kind of an innings from him. Mentions that he takes the result gladly and says they made some few mistakes. Rahul also says at 55/5 they were calm in the dressing room.
Earlier in the evening, after being put into bat, Delhi were struggling to get going as they started off poorly. Partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Pant kept their side in the hunt but after the pair departed it looked like Delhi would struggle to get to 130 but the new Aussie recruit turned the game around as his 21-ball 53 turned the tide around and his 30 off the final over off Jordan took the side well past 130 and saw them finish with 157. Mohammed Shami was the star with the ball for Punjab as he finished with 3/15 from his 4!
A very good bowling performance from Delhi. They did not start off well but Ashwin's one over changed the momentum of the game. The ex Punjab skipper double wicket over gave his new side the momentum. Unfortunately though he dislocated his shoulder and went off the field after bowling just 6 deliveries. Marcus Stoinis filled up the number for Ashwin and did a fantastic job in the final over where he picked up 2 wickets himself. Rabada was fabulous with the ball both in the regular game and the Super Over. Picking up wickets in both those phases and setting up the win for his side. Axar too was fantastic as he finished with 1/14 from his 4. Mohit Sharma was expensive but managed to get the big wicket of KL Rahul.
So what happened prior to the Super Over? Well chasing 158, Punjab got off to a good start with skipper, KL Rahul going well but then out of nowhere they tumbled and from 30/0 they found themselves in the back foot and struggling at 35/4 in the space of 12. That just completely changed the course of the game and saw Delhi get on top. Mayank Agarwal though held his end but kept losing partners. Krishnappa Gowtham then gave him a bit of support as the pair added 46 runs. When KG departed it looked like that was the game but Agarwal took the onus on himself and played a blinder of a knock. His 89 saw his side need 1 off three balls but a dot followed by the departure of Mayank Agarwal saw the game go to the Super Over.
WOW! Finally we have a winner! Delhi have managed to win the Super Over. It went down the wire but in the end Delhi held their nerves in the Super Over and won it quite comfortably. Rabada, the star for Delhi with the ball as his heroics in the Super Over was something absolutely extra ordinary!

to Rishabh Pant ,THAT IS IT! Delhi have won the Super Over! Full on the pads, Pant flicks it fine down the leg side and gets a couple.
So the Punjab players are in a huddle as KL Rahul is giving final word of motivation to his players. It will be Delhi skipper, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant who will come out to bat for Delhi. Who will take the ball for Punjab? Will Rahul take the risk but the experience of Chris Jordan or will he go for the left-arm pacer, Sheldon Cottrell or the Indian talisman Mohammed Shami? It is Mohammed Shami.
So superb display from Rabada as he has finished Punjab's Super Over in just 3 balls. Delhi now need just 3 to win this Super Over. A very abject display from Punjab in the Super Over and only a miracle can see them get a win in this game.
Glenn Maxwell is the third and final batter for Punjab!

Kagiso Rabada to Nicholas Pooran ,OUT! BOWLED! Rabada goes bang, bang and that is the end of Punjab's innings! Full, straight and pacy on off. Pooran swings but misses. Rabada does not and the off stump goes for a toss.

Kagiso Rabada to KL Rahul ,OUT! CAUGHT! Rabada strikes in the Super Over and the Punjab captain cannot do much in the Super Over. Short ball which follows Rahul away from the stumps. He looks to play the tennis hoick but plays it straight to Axar Patel.

Kagiso Rabada to KL Rahul ,Full on middle, Rahul flicks it to the right of deep square leg and gets a couple.
40 overs of action and we still do not have a winner. The match is heading to the Super Over. Both sides had the game in their hands at one point or the other but none have been able to latch onto it and the game is heading to the Super Over. It was Marcus Stoinis with the bat in the final over and he has managed to do the unthinkable with the ball and has dragged the game into Super Over.

Marcus Stoinis to Chris Jordan ,OUT! CAUGHT! Stoinis has dragged this game into the Super Over! Low full toss on the pads, Jordan flicks it uppishly but straight to short mid-wicket. Rabada there takes the catch and Punjab have thrown it away.
Mohammad Shami is the man who be at the non-striker's end.
