That ends the action from the Adelaide Oval. It was a tale of woe for the Scorchers and they need to find something more than inspiration because they have have been winless for 4 games and this performance brings the morale down even further. Tuesday sees a double dose of Big Bash action. At 5.10 pm local time (0710 GMT) in Carrara, the Melbourne Renegades meet the Sydney Sixers and then at 7.15 pm local time (0815 GMT) in the Australian capital, Canberra, the Sydney Thunder meet the Melbourne Stars. Join us on 29th December, 2020 for all the action. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
RASHID KHAN HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He thanks the almighty for this performance. On being asked about his fitness for this game, Rashid says that he was 50-50 in the morning but backed himself to play. Is thrilled to be playing in front of the Adelaide crowd. Says that he always works hard on his batting and small cameos make a big difference to the total as it did in this game. On his injured hand while trying to catch Livingstone, Khan says that his entire hand and even his toe now, seems getting injured but he is okay now. On him being named as the T20 player of the decade, Rashid says that he is overwhelmed and takes this as a great victory for his country, Afghanistan, hoping to inspire more players. Admits that there is pressure on him to perform well every match but he always tries hard to give his best.
A perfect bowling outing for the Strikers. They came back after a poor start with the ball and then found their lines and lengths, along with an excellent ally in the Scorchers' batsmen. Every bowler seemed impressive, citing a perfect team effort, totally opposite to the Scorchers. With this win, the Strikers jump to the top of the table, with 13 points in 5 games.
The Scorchers would have backed themselves to gun down 166 and they started well too. But one wicket set the cat free amongst the pigeons. They had an opening stand of 35 and lost all their 10 wickets for 59 runs. Nothing much to talk about their batting, as every player just went with the thought of winning the Man-Of-The-Match award with his batting. No thoughts were put to staging partnerships and everyone seemed to be in a hurry to chase the total.
A win with almost 5 overs to spare. This is a thumping. This is going to be difficult to pass by, for the Scorchers. This is the 5th time they have been bundled out under 100 and it is also their joint-second largest margin of defeat in BBL history.

Peter Siddle to Jason Behrendorff ,DIRECT HIT WOULD HAVE HAD BEHRENDORFF. Yorker, outside off, Jason drives it towards mid off and sets off for a single. He gives it up mid-way as he has hit it too well but the fielder misses his shy at the bowler's end.

Peter Siddle to Jason Behrendorff ,FOUR! A bit of a gift. A half volley down the leg side, Behrendorff tickles it past short fine leg.

Peter Siddle to Liam Livingstone ,OUT! CAUGHT! Livingstone departs now and the Scorchers lose their last ray of hope. If ever there was any. Full and outside off, Livingstone backs away and smokes this through the covers. But he finds Rashid Khan at perfection who takes a good low catch. That has stung, as Rashid gets some treatment from the physio. 50TH BBL WICKET FOR SIDDLE!
Peter Siddle returns. 2-0-18-0 so far.
