Virat Kohli was felicitated by the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) on February 1, the third day of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match between Delhi and Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
It was weird because Kohli did not do anything extraordinary off late to receive the felicitation. People thought it was to celebrate his homecoming to the Ranji Trophy after 13 years, with his last match before this one for Delhi coming in 2012.

However, it was revealed later that the DDCA and its president Rohan Jaitley wanted to celebrate Kohli playing 100 Tests, an event that occurred way back in 2022. Since then, he has even played a Test in Delhi in 2023.
But the DDCA, it seems, waited for the right moment for the Indian modern-day great to represent Delhi in the Ranji Trophy someday and then present him with the award.
The achievement was marked with a memento and shawl, presented by DDCA president Rohan Jaitely. Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma was also present on the occasion.
