It has been a mixed day for Harshit Rana in Nagpur. Making his One-Day International (ODI) debut against England, Rana started off well before Phil Salt took him to the cleaners, taking 26 runs off an over.
He was taken off the attack, but when he returned, he got a couple of wickets in the over to send Ben Duckett and Harry Brook back to the pavilion.
Fellow debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal took a brilliant catch running back from square leg to hand Rana his maiden wicket. Duckett looked to pull the ball but was in no position to execute it. As a result, he mistimed one and gave Jaiswal a half-chance, which he converted.
India were on the back foot after Salt and Duckett put on 75 for the first wicket inside nine overs. However, Rana's double strike and a run-out helped India pull things back in the first ODI.
