Follow UsThe fan frenzy for Virat Kohli doesn’t seem to be dying down any soon as after the incident of a fan of his breaching security to touch his feet on Day 1 of the Delhi vs Railways Ranji Trophy match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, a similar thing happened on Day 3.
However, the major difference was that instead of just one fan, three people breached the security this time around and rushed to the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch to touch their revered idol, who was fielding for Delhi during Railways’ second innings.
Earlier on Day 2, Kohli, who was expected to score big on his Ranji return, failed to deliver as he was snapped up by rookie Railways bowler Himanshu Sangwan for just six runs. Kohli’s stay at the batting crease was a meagre 15 minutes.
Despite Kohli’s failure with the bat, Delhi are in a strong position to win the game after taking a 133-run lead and picking early wickets in the second innings of their opposition.

This win will not be enough for the hosts to make it to the knockouts of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 as Saurashtra already won by bonus points against Assam to claim the second spot from elite group D.
