Follow UsWashington Freedom kept up their dominant performance in the Major League (MLC) 2024 to beat San Francisco Unicorns by 96 runs in the final at the Grand Prarie Stadium, Dallas on July 28 (Sunday) to claim their maiden title. Steven Smith led from the front for the Freedom, smashing seven fours and six sixes on his way to a 52-ball 88. He put pn 88 off just 39 with Glenn Maxwell (40), to set the Unicorns a target of 208.
In reply, the Corey Anderson-led unit never really got going. Marco Jansen (3/28) and Rachin Ravindra (3/23) were the pick of the bowlers for Washington, cleaning up their opponents for just 111 in 16 overs to win by a comfortable 96-run margin.
