Krishnan Shrijith slammed 100* off 51 deliveries but it was still not enough to give Hubli Tigers a win in the last league match of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2024 on August 29 (Thursday). Gulbarga Mystics chased down the 180-run target in 19.1 overs.
Asked to bat, Mohammed Taha hit 35 off 20 deliveries but it was Shrijith who stole all the limelight. The left-hander smashed 14 fours and three maximums as Hubli posted a total of 179/7. The remaining batters struggled to get going, with Monish Reddy claiming 4/32.
In the run chase, Gulbarga were 70/4 in 9.1 overs before Vijaykumar Vyshak hit 51 off 33 deliveries. Ritesh Bhatkal (19-ball 35*) and Praveen Dubey (14-ball 34*) then played those fiery cameos to take their team over the line with four wickets to spare.
Gulbarga will now take on Bengaluru Blasters in the first semi-final on August 30, while the Tigers will play Mysore Warriors on August 31.
