Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India cricketer Virender Sehwag, has burst into the limelight by smashing a whopping 297 runs in the Cooch Behar Trophy 2024/25 clash between Delhi and Meghalaya at the MCA Cricket Ground in Shillong.
In an extraordinary display of hitting, 17-year-old Aaryavir hammered 51 fours and three sixes en route a brutal 297 that came off just 309 balls. He agonizingly missed out on a triple ton, getting bowled three runs shy of the special landmark.
Aaryavir’s 297 is the highest individual score of this ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy edition. Before this encounter, Uttar Pradesh’s Bhavy Goyal (273) had been the only batter to cross the 250-run mark.
Virender Sehwag took to X to share his thoughts and praised his son for his record-breaking effort.
“Well played @aaryavirsehwag. Missed a Ferrari by 23 runs. But well done, keep the fire alive and may you score many more daddy hundreds and doubles and triples. Khel jaao,” Sehwag said.
Aaryavir is the first Delhi batter to post a double ton in the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy edition.
