Tripathi shines again for Maharashtra, Bengal outclass Services
Mumbai and Maharashtra posted big wins over Puducherry and Mizoram respectively in the Group E of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Monday while Bengal beat Services by 47 runs in a run feast.
Mumbai dismissed Puducherry for 139 in 38 overs and romped home in 24.2 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal hammering an unbeaten 73. For Maharashtra, Rahul Tripathi smashed 107 (99 balls, 8 fours, 3 sixes), skipper Ankit Bawane hit 95 (105 balls, 11 fours) and Azim Kazi 67 as they piled up 341 for 4 in 50 overs. Mizoram were never in the hunt and ended up at 158 for 8.
In the other match of the day, Bengal held off a spirited challenge from Services to post a 47-run win in a high-scoring match. Batting first after being sent in, openers Sudip Kumar Gharami (162, 129 balls, 15 fours, 7 sixes) and Abhimanyu Easwaran (122, 133 balls, 9 fours, 1 six) sent the Services bowlers on a leather hunt by putting on a massive 298-run stand.
Bengal built on the superb start with Shahbaz Ahmed hammering a 28-ball 59 to help the team post an imposing 426/4. Services made a good attempt with five of their batters making half-centuries. However, it was not enough as Bengal struck blows at crucial junctures to enable the team secure a win.

Mumbai 141/1 (24.2 overs) beat Puducherry 139 all out (38 overs) by 9 wickets.

Punjab beat Odisha, MP thrash Nagaland
Skipper Mandeep Singh's superb 91 overshadowed Kartik Biswal's brilliant century as Punjab thrashed Odisha by five wickets to continue their unbeaten run in group D at the Vjay Hazare Trophy. Put in to bat, Odisha posted 251/7, courtesy a 112-ball 107 not out by Biswal and a 52-ball 51 by Biplab Samantray, at DY Patil Sports Academy.
In response, Punjab cantered home in 46.4 overs and look set to qualify for the quarterfinals by virtue of being group toppers with 20 points.
Chasing, Mandeep held the innings together with an unconquered 98-ball 91 after openers Prabhsimran Singh (21) and Abhishek Sharma (41) shared a 61-run partnership. After losing the top three, Mandeep and Anmol Malhotra (18) joined hands to take Punjab across the 100-mark.
Madhya Pradesh notched up a massive 321-run win over a hapless Nagaland after posting 424/3 in 50 overs. Opener Yash Dubey remained not out on 195 off 150 balls (19x4, 4x6) while Rajat Patidar smashed 50 off 29 balls and captain Himanshu Mantri scored 73 off 61 balls. Shubham Sharma claimed 4-21 while Avesh Khan (1-6) and Kuldeep Sen (2-37) contributed with wickets.
In other group D matches, Baroda beat Uttarakhand by six wickets. Jammu and Kashmir are placed second in the group with 16 points from five matches. They didn't have a game on Monday and will meet Uttarakhand in their final group D match on Wednesday.
