Vidarbha's Karnewar first T20 bowler to concede zero runs from four overs

Karnewar, an ambidextrous spinner, bowled four maidens against Manipur in the Syed Musthaq Ali Trophy

Vidarbha's ambidextrous spinner Akshay Karnewar on Monday became the first bowler in T20s to concede zero runs after bowlers full quota of four overs. Karnewar returned figures of 4-4-0-2 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy Plate Group match against Manipur.

Batting first at the ACA Stadium in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha put up 222 runs in 20 overs after Jitesh Sharma (71 not our) and Apoorv Wankhede (49 not out). In reply, Manipur was bundled out for just 55 runs in 16.3 overs.

Another spinner Atharva Taide also claimed two wickets without conceding a run from his one over. 

Vidarbha has dominated the eight-team Plate Group winning all their five matches so far. On Tuesday, they trounced Sikkim by 130 runs in which Karnewar claimed 4-5 and bowled 20 dot balls from his full quota.
