Uttar Pradesh (UP) T20 League 2024: Most runs, most wickets, highest fantasy points

The six-team Uttar Pradesh T20 League concluded on September 14 (Saturday) as Rinku Singh-led Meerut Mavericks walked away with their maiden title. They beat Kanpur Superstars by five wickets in a high-scoring finale in Lucknow. This is the second final for Meerut. They lost last season's final against the Kashi Rudras by seven wickets

On that note, let's look at some of the best performers from this edition of the tournament.

Most Runs

Mavericks' Swastik Chikara ended this season as the tournament's leading run-getter, finishing one shy of 500 runs at an average of 49.90 to go with an impressive strike rate of 185.50. He also hit 47 sixes - the most in the tournament, with Sameer Rizvi, with 32, way behind him. The 19-year-old is also just one of two players to hit a century. He achieved this feat against the Gorakhpur Lions. Aryan Juyal is the only other batter to hit a ton in the tournament, with his 104* off 54 coming against the Noida Kings.

Most Wickets

Leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari from Meerut Mavericks finished as the tournament's highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets from 12 matches, striking once every 10.45 deliveries. He is just one of two bowlers to pick up a five-wicket haul (5/26) in the tournament, which came against Kanpur Superstars. 

However, the best bowling figures (5/19) belong to another leg-spinner, Vipraj Nigam of Lucknow Falcons, who got there against the Lions. Ansari was well supported by left-arm spinner Yash Garg, who finished with 17 wickets in the UP T20 League.
