Shikhar Dhawan to represent Karnali Yaks in Nepal Premier League 2024

Dhawan, who officially announced his retirement from Indian cricket in August this year, participated in the Legends League Cricket and will also take part in the Big Bash League in December

Nepal Premier League (NPL) has hit a jackpot, with former Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan joining Karnali Yaks as the first Indian player in the league. The tournament, which will kick off on November 30 and conclude on December 21, will also feature the likes of James Neesham, Martin Guptill, Unmukt Chand, and Ben Cutting.

Dhawan, who officially announced his retirement from Indian cricket in August this year, participated in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) and will also take part in the Big Bash League (BBL) in December.

“Thrilled to welcome the Karnali Yaks to the Nepal Premier League family. Get ready for some incredible cricket action as they bring their unique spirit and determination from the land of Karnali,” Karnali Yaks said in a statement.

Dhawan was one of the most celebrated players India has ever produced and scored 24 hundreds across 269 international appearances for India. His success in the ICC events gave him a different aura, and he bowed out of Indian cricket in the IPL 2024, in which leading Punjab Kings.
