Shakib Al Hasan unsure of India series participation

The Bangladesh all-rounder is due to play MLC in the USA followed y Global T20 in Canada

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan says he is unsure of participating in the away series against India, according to a report on Cricbuzz.

India and Bangladesh are set to clash in two Tests and three One-Day Internationals (ODI) from September 19 to October 12 after taking their two-Test series against Pakistan in August. All the Tests will be part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.

Shakib is set to participate in the Major League (MLC) for Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) and has left for the US from Dhaka on Monday (July 1). He is also scheduled to turn up at the Global T20 League Canada after that. The MLC is scheduled to run from July 5-29, while the Global T20 will be played between July 25 and August 11.

"I don't have many plans. There are two T20 tournaments in front of me: MLC and the Global T20 League in Canada. Let me see where I stand after playing these two tournaments because I need to understand [how I feel]," Shakib told reporters before departing for the USA.

"There is international cricket, and there is a series against Pakistan, and I am planning till that point of time and not planning beyond that. Now I don't have time to plan for three four years and so planning for three to six months is better, and later will think about my next plan, and so, till now I am planning till the Pakistan series."

In the recently-concluded T20 World Cup 2024, Shakib scored 111 tuns at a strike rate of 106.73, and with the ball, he managed just three scalps as Bangladesh failed to make it to the semi-final. While they lost all their games in the Super 8s stage, they managed to win three games for the first time in a T20 World Cup.
