On August 7 (Wednesday), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) elevated Saud Shakeel to the status of vice-captain as they announced the squad for their upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
Saud takes over from Shaheen Afridi, with PCB stating that the decision was “aimed at managing Pakistan’s lead fast bowler’s workload management.”
Mohammad Huraira, Kamran Ghulam, and Mohammad Ali have been called up to Pakistan’s Test squad. Naseem Shah also marks his return to the red-ball setup for the first time in 13 months. Ghulam was rewarded for a successful first-class season, in which he aggregated 1,025 runs in 11 first-class matches in the 2023-24 season.
