Rishabh Pant fined for maintaining slow over-rate against CSK

Delhi Capitals’ skipper Pant has been fined INR 12 lakhs for slow over-rate against Chennai Super Kings

Delhi Capitals (DC)’s skipper Rishabh Pant has been fined INR 12 lakhs for his side maintaining a slow over-rate against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their clash in Vishakapatnam on March 31 (Sunday)

It is the first offence for both Pant and the franchise under the league’s Code of Conduct, and hence, the fine of INR 12 lakhs.

"Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on March 31," read the official IPL statement.

"As it was his team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Pant was fined Rs 12 lakhs," the statement added.

After posting 191 in their 20 overs, Khaleel Ahmed put on a masterclass with the ball (2/21) to help Delhi post their first points on the table this season, with a 20-run victory over the five-time IPL champions.
