Follow UsCarnage unfolded on the second morning of the Hong Sixes 2024 as in the clash between India and England, Ravi Bopara hammered Robin Uthappa for six sixes in a single over.
The onslaught occurred in the fourth over of England’s innings. After a relatively slow start in the game by Hong Kong Sixes standards, with the score reading just 36/0 in 3 overs, Bopara tore into Uthappa. The right-hander smashed five sixes off the first five balls of the over, after which Uthappa bowled a wide. The break did not stop Bopara from going berserk, though, as he collected another maximum on the final ball to make it six sixes in the over.
By doing so, Bopara became the first batter in Hong Sixes 2024 to hit six sixes in a single over. Uthappa’s over also became the most expensive over of the ongoing edition.
The assault proved fatal for India, who lost the clash by 15 runs. Bopara also did damage with the ball, registering figures of 2/11.
Hong Kong Sixes 2024 has been a competition to forget for India. They’ve now lost all three games they’ve played so far and have been knocked out of the tournament.
On November 1 (Friday), they got obliterated by Pakistan and then earlier today, they slipped to a one-run defeat at the hands of UAE.
