The toss in the second Pakistan vs Bangladesh Test in Rawalpindi was delayed on day one of the game on Friday (August 20) due to heavy rainfall in the military town of Pakistan.
However, more worrying signs were cast on a full day’s play by the weather forecast which predicts rain, which started in the wee hours of today and continued to belt down.
However, according to AccuWeather, the chances of rain from 11 am local time (11:30 am IST) to 2 pm (2:30 pm IST) will decrease from 49 percent to 20 percent. Thus, any real possibility of a game happening ahead of Lunch on day 1 remains grim.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Islamabad, the twin city of Rawalpindi, is expected to have rainfall throughout the day with changing wind speed and lightning variations on August 30. Pakistan, the hosts of the two-match series, lost the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium by 10 wickets and are playing to save the series. Even a draw here would mean a series win for Bangladesh.
Shaheen Afridi is out of Pakistan’s 12-man squad selected for this Test. Abrar Ahmed and Mir Hamza have been included in the 12.
