Amre confirms that Marsh will be out for at least another week

Delhi Capitals already missed the services of the all-rounder during their loss against Mumbai Indians

Delhi Capitals find themselves at the foothill of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) with just one win in the competition. Mitchell Marsh wasn’t fit to take the field for the clash against Mumbai Indians. In the aftermath of their 29-run loss against Mumbai Indians, the Capitals’ assistant coach, Pravin Amre, stated that Marsh has been sidelined with a ‘hamstring injury’.

"A few of our players are injured, and the worrying sign is Mitch Marsh," Amre said after DC's 29-run loss away to Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday. "He has gone for a scan and the physios will give us a report in a week's time. Then we will come to know what the exact situation is. Whether he can [play the entire season] or not depends on the reports."

Marsh was expected to play a big role for the Capitals, opening the innings alongside David Warner. But an injury to Marsh has now made things extremely difficult for the Capitals, who have to search for possible combinations to fill the void left by the all-rounder.

"We have to start winning but have been set back by a few injuries," Amre opened up on DC’s setback.

Not just Marsh, the Capitals were also without both Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav. Amre provided an update on the two, stating that Mukesh will take the field in Delhi’s next clash against Lucknow Super Giants on April 12. However, Kuldeep will continue to spend time away from the sport, regaining full fitness.

"In the first game, Ishant [Sharma] couldn't bowl two overs. Then Mukesh got injured. Kuldeep has not played three games. Marsh has a hamstring injury. They are our main players and whoever comes [in for them], they are not as effective because it is like A players vs B players there,” Amre said.
