In his two innings in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024, Chitwan opener Hassan Eisakhil scored 12 off 7 against the Kathmandu Gurkhas and 14 off 10 in the second game against the Pokhara Avengers. Clearly, he likes to take on the bowling right from the start, but a significant score has eluded him so far.
Eisakhil, the son of legendary Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, says that his father has advised him to show intent and use his power to strike the ball down the ground.
"He said my power is good, and I should play down the ground more. Earlier, they [my parents] never allowed me to play cricket. They asked me to focus on studies. But then I put in the hard work in cricket and progressed to the Under-19s," Eisakhil said on the sidelines of the Rhinos' match against the Avengers.
"We practice together in Dubai. He has advised me to stay positive and show intent, and results will follow," the 18-year-old added.
Speaking of his stint with the Chitwan Rhinos, "The atmosphere in the team is good. I have made good friends with everyone since I have been here since the [November] 19th. We had a camp in Chitwan as well."
The Rhinos got off to an excellent start in the NPL 2024, winning their first game against the Gurkhas by five wickets.
