Pandya reclaims top T20I all-rounder spot; Tilak breaks into top 10 batters

Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh also made significant gains in their respective lists after India's 3-1 win in South Africa

Hardik Pandya was back at the summit of ICC’s T20 all-rounders rankings, dethroning England’s Liam Livingstone. In other gainers from India’s 3-1 series win against South Africa, Tilak Varma broke into the list of top 10 batters for the first time in his career, having scored back-to-back hundreds. 

Pandya was ranked the top all-rounder after India defeated South Africa in the final to lift the T20 World Cup in June. Livingstone then had a fantastic home series against Australia where he scored 124 runs in two matches and picked five wickets. Pandya reclaimed the numero uno spot with scores of 18, 39* and 2. He had a bigger impact with the ball in the South Africa series, with figures of 2/80 in the series in what was a high-scoring series. In the final T20I, he conceded only 8 runs in his three overs while picking one wicket. 

Tilak jumped 69 spots on the batting rankings with a breakthrough series, scoring 280 runs in four matches. With his successive tons in the third and fourth fixtures, he averaged 140 at a strike rate of 198.6. He is now the third-ranked T20I batter, only behind Travis Head and Phil Salt. Suryakumar Yadav is ranked fourth, having slipped one place. 

Sanju Samson also scored two hundreds in the series. His scores in the series read 107, 0, 0, 109* which pushed him from 39th to the 22nd spot. 

Arshdeep Singh, the highest wicket-taker of the series with eight scalps moved three spots on the bowler’s list to break into the top 10 again, at the ninth spot. 

The bowling rankings are dominated by the leg-spinners with Adil Rashid keeping the top spot. Wanindu Hasaranga moved to the second spot with six wickets in two T20Is against New Zealand. In a similar vein, Adam Zampa moved from eighth to the third spot with six wickets against Pakistan at an economy of 6.8.
