Follow UsBangladesh hammered Pakistan by six wickets on day five of the second and final Test in Rawalpindi to script a historic series whitewash. This is Bangladesh’s only second overseas Test series win in a series involving two games or more.
Bangladesh needed 143 runs on the final day and had all their wickets remaining. Zakir Hasan got out after slamming 40 off 39 deliveries, while Shadman Islam fell to Khurram Shahzad for 24.
However, there was no panic in the Bangladesh dressing room as the likes of Najmul Hossain Shanto (38), Mominul Haque (34), Mushfiqur Rahim (22*), and Shakib Al Hasan (21*) chipped in with decent cameos to help Bangladesh chase down the 185-run target without any fuss.
This is Pakistan's second whitewash at home in two years. In 2022, they were beaten 3-0 by the Ben Stokes-led English side.
