New Zealand, Pakistan & South Africa to clash in tri-series ahead of CT 2025
For the Kiwis, the home summer of 2024/25 will kick-off with a three-Test series against England in November
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) have confirmed the side’s fixtures for the following 12 months and the Blackcaps, ahead of the Champions Trophy next year, will be playing a tri-series against South Africa and hosts Pakistan in Pakistan.
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be played in February 2025 in Pakistan, and this tri-series in question is set to serve as a warmup for the mega event for all three sides involved. The Champions Trophy last took place seven years ago, in 2017, and the Kiwis, incidentally, in that edition, got knocked out in the group stages after suffering losses at the hands of England and Bangladesh.
Pakistan will return the favour a month later, in March 2025, with the Men in Green scheduled to tour the Blackcaps for five T20Is and 3 ODIs. It will be the second time in as many years that Pakistan will be playing a five-match T20I series in New Zealand.
For the Kiwis, the home summer of 2024/25 will kick-off with a three-Test series against England in November, which will be a part of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. That will be followed by a full-fledged white-ball series - 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is - against Sri Lanka across December and January.
The White Ferns, the New Zealand women’s side, will meanwhile be hosting arch-rivals Australia for a three-match ODI series in December.
The White Ferns are also scheduled to host Sri Lanka for a full-fledged white-ball series in March 2025. The same month will see them host Australia for three T20Is.
