Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Friday became the first player history to captain 300 T20 games when he walked out for the toss in the IPL 2021 final against Kolkata Kight Riders in Dubai.
Dhoni, who led CSK since the inaugural 2008 edition, guided them to their 10th IPL final. In total, Dhoni had captained CSK in 213 matches, Rising Pune Supergiant in 14 games and India in 73 T20Is during his career.
"It's been a long time. We started T20 in around 2005-06 and most of the games have been franchise cricket and in the last five years there have been a lot of T20 games in international cricket as well," Dhoni said at the toss of tonight's game when asked about the milestone.
As a captain, Dhoni has a win percentage of 59.8 with 206 wins and 137 losses.
Second in the list is Darren Sammy, who has led in 208 T20s.
