India’s ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been given a Grade A+ contract, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India announcing the Annual Player Contracts for the Senior Men’s team for the 2022-23 season.
The 34-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder, who is a crucial member of team India in all three formats, joins Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah in the A+ category list.
A total of 26 players have been awarded central contracts in four categories, with Grade A+ contract players earning INR 7 crore, Grade A INR 5 crore, Grade B INR 3 crore, and Grade C INR 1 crore.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Deepak Chahar, Wriddhiman Saha, Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari are the ones to miss out. KL Rahul has been dropped to Group B from A, while Shardul Thakur has been demoted to Group C from B.
There have been a couple of more changes, with the likes of Hardik Pandya (from Group c) and Axar Patel (from Group B) being upgraded to Group A. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill have been moved to Group B from Group C.
Then you have Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and KS Bharat being all added to Group C. Shikhar Dhawan, who hasn’t played for India since December 2022, is also part of Group C.
