Upon the request of broadcasters, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have reportedly agreed to begin the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction at 3:30 PM IST on November 24 (Sunday), which translates to 1.00 PM local time (Saudi Time).
According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI have made the adjustment in order to ensure that the broadcasters get undivided attention to the auction, as the adjusted time will ensure that the event will not clash with the first Test between India and Australia in Perth.
The third day of the Perth Test between India and Australia will conclude by 3:20 PM IST at latest, even if there is a 30-minute extension.
"Please note that the start time will now be 1:00 PM Saudi time/03:30 PM IST (based on the request from the broadcaster)," a BCCI communique read, reported Cricbuzz.
The auction, according to the report, is expected to go on till 10:30 PM IST, meaning it will be a 7-hour affair.
The venue of the auction is the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The proceedings will be shown live on Star Sports and Jiocinema.
